The Elan Valley & Visitor Centre, Elan Valley, Rhayader, Powys LD6 5HP "I asked the lady at the Visitor Centre 'how far do we have to walk to see the nearest dam?' she pointed out the window and I could not believe it!! Stunning. Watch the little film to fully understand why and how this valley was flooded to supply Birmingham with its water supply. Sadly the weather was so atrocious on the day we visited we had to abandon our walk (even in full waterproofs!), but we will go back - people rave about it - and I still want to see all the other dams". |
