We all have our own ideas about what makes the perfect holiday, but what makes the perfect guest?
Well, we thought we'd ask the people who know best - the cottage owners themselves! |
Obviously, they would prefer it if you
DON'T:
- let your dogs upstairs or on furniture if specifically requested not to
- leave the washing-up on the last day of your holiday for someone else to do
- assume an 'enquiry' is a booking and turn up unexpectedly
- forget to return maps, booklets and walking guides once you've used them
- throw stones for the owners' dogs - trips to vets are expensive!
- forget to clean the BBQ after you've used it
- hesitate to let them know if there is anything you need during your stay (rather than complain about it later!)
- allow your dog IN the bed (truly!)
- be afraid to admit if something has been broken during your stay
- forget to clean the grill pan
- leave dogs alone in cottages or allow to bark excessively
- expect other people to entertain your children
- forget to leave the keys when you return home
The perfect guest will:
- leave the place exactly as they found it
- let the owners know if anything gets broken, doesn't work or needs replacing before the next guests arrive
- let the owners know if there is anything they want or need during their stay
- tell others if you enjoyed it
