Bridport is an historic market town approx 1 mile inland, amongst hills and is one of the Gateway Towns giving access to the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. Bridport is a Beacon Town in recognition of the quality and diversity of its locally produced foodstuffs. Many local producers trade at the Farmers Market in the Arts Centre on the second Saturday of the month and also trade on the Wednesday and Saturday street markets.
Charmouth Beach, (West) Lower Sea Lane, Charmouth DT6 6LL Drive into Charmouth until you reach the pedestrian crossing, turn right into Lower Sea Lane. Ample pay and display car parking outside the Heritage Coast Centre (entry free). Part of the 'Jurassic Coast'. Sand/shingle/rock pools/cliffs. Great for fossil hunting. Toilets, first aid, shops, cafe/restaurant, disabled facilities. Lifeguards during July. Dogs restricted.
