Review:

Helen’s cottages are well-appointed apartment-style accommodations converted from a portion of her still-active riding stables. Despite our initial misgivings - (summertime around horses and their natural by-products!) - we were pleased to find that her holiday accommodations were not affected by the stable operations in any way.
The cottage we stayed in was lovely and clean, with very nice furniture, cabinetry, flooring, and bathing facilities. There is nothing rustic about the interiors of the cottages - all are very modern and comfortable. Our cottage was completely wheelchair accessible on the ground floor (there is a sleeping loft that is obviously not), with a spacious shower room.
A guest laundry room is on site. The property is on a very quiet country lane with little traffic, yet the town centre of Hertford is only five minutes’ away with convenient shopping and many dining options. Trains are available at two Hertford stations and in nearby Broxbourne, the best for those using the National Rail Travelcards.

Specifically Recommend: The property is well-designed for the disabled traveler, especially users of wheelchairs. We are American and had some custom and cultural issues we needed to learn, but Europeans, and Britons in particular should be very comfortable from the outset.
Be Aware: Anyone on holiday to tour London needs to plan for an hour or more total travel time by train into and returning from the city, particularly if a member of the party uses a wheelchair.
Could Provide: Nothing - Helen went out of her way to make us welcome and our stay a comfortable one.

Local Gems:
