Review:

The cottages at Lea Hill are set in a beautiful location in the peace & quiet of rural Devon. Kingfisher is a thatched cottage (see Owners’ Right to Reply at bottom of review) & was extremely spacious & had everything in it that we needed for an extremely comfortable stay.

The shared garden area is stunning & extremely well looked after with plenty of places to sit & just relax. There are fields belonging to the farm where dogs can be exercised but there is so much walking locally that there are plenty of places to go with dogs.

Everything about Lea Hill was wonderful, relaxing & peaceful and it was a pleasure to stay there. My only comment would be that if you don’t like driving on single track roads with limited visibility then this may not be the area for you as it is at least 4 miles in any direction before you reach a main road.

Specifically Recommend: The peace & quiet, the beauty of the grounds & the surrounding area, great for dog owners.
Extremely clean, spacious, well-equipped accommodation.
Be Aware: The narrow roads can be difficult if you’re not used to driving on them & I would say that if you are going to do much driving then GPS is essential.

Local Gems:
The Tuckers Inn at Dalwood does some of the best meals we’ve had for a very long time.
Also The Forge at Branscombe is well worth a visit.

Sum It Up: Peaceful, relaxing & comfortable, a welcome break from busy lives.

Owners’ Right to Reply:
Please note, for the avoidance of doubt, that Kingfisher is actually the top floor apartment within a thatched building (rather than a thatched cottage as described above).
